Vineyard and History

The vine has been present in the Rhône valley since the earliest times, a sign of a multitude of favorable conditions, such as relief, sunshine, temperatures, but above all the Mistral, which cleans up the vineyard by drying it, and avoid thus diseases.
The culture of the vine did not cease developing along the Rhone Valley, since the Romans, with the influence of the Popes in Avignon in the XVIth century, then of the Kings of France to lead to the recognition of the Protected Designations of Origin. (formerly Controlled), Côtes du Rhône and Costières de Nîmes.

The Cave des Vignerons de Montfrin, created in 1924, is located on the side of the southern slopes, along this Rhône Valley.
The cooperators of the Montfrin cellar operate 900 hectares of vines, spread over the villages of Montfrin, Meynes, Comps and Théziers.
The vineyard is cultivated on a favorable relief bringing together a set of slopes and plateaus, facing south, with soils made up in particular of the famous rolled pebbles.
